BOONE, N.C. — Merchandise featuring Appalachian State University's vintage Yosef logo that adorned the Mountaineers' football helmets during the 1970s goes on sale Wednesday at retailers in the Boone area and online.
Retailers carrying the vintage line include Mountaineer Mania, Sports Fanatic, Boone Walmart, the University Bookstore, the
GoASU.com online store (
shop.GoASU.com) and
college-cornhole.com.
Appalachian football will wear alternate uniforms featuring the vintage Yosef logo — which was emblazoned on the Apps' helmets from 1971-79 — for its Sept. 29 matchup versus Coastal Carolina. Fans are encouraged to wear apparel from the vintage line for the ASU-CCU game to participate in the 70s theme of the afternoon, which will also include in-game promotions and entertainment that harken back to the disco era.
Following the Sept. 29 battle versus Coastal Carolina, fans can bid to purchase the alternate jerseys worn by the Mountaineers through an online auction to be held at
GoASU.com.
The Apps' alternate helmets will also be sold to fans with the first 75 being offered exclusively to Yosef Club members (click
HERE for information — alternate helmet sale info is also included in season-ticket packets being mailed this week and a separate mailing for Yosef Club members that are not season-ticket holders). Additionally, a limited number of helmets will be auctioned at
GoASU.com.
