BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Appalachian State University track and field wrapped up competition as a trio of freshmen turned in solid performances at the USA Track and Field Junior Outdoor Nationals on Friday and Saturday.
Raphael Rojas finished 16th among the top freshmen runners in the nation in the 800-meter run on Friday evening with a time of 1:53.83
Ashton Smith took 14th in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 34:01.22 on Saturday night. Tatyana Bryant, who competed in Saturday's long jump on the women's side, finished 17th with a leap of 18'6".
The meet marks the final competition of the year for the Mountaineers, who ended the season with Southern Conference Indoor and Outdoor titles on the women's side while snagging their third-straight SoCon Outdoor championship on the men's side.
