AUBURN, Ala. – Appalachian State University women's track and field concluded its weekend at the Auburn Tiger Track Classic with several top-10 performances on Saturday at Hutsell-Rosen Track.
Asia Dunlap and Cassie Crawford led the Mountaineers with two top-five finishes. Dunlap took fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:09.84 while Crawford's leap of 12'1.50" in the pole vault placed her fourth.
The Apps had three runners finish in the top-10 of the 1,500-meter run as Amanda Hamilton, Allison Cook and Justine Stocks finished in the sixth, ninth and 10th spots, respectively.
Kaitlin Cagle also turned in an impressive performance in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:01.90 while Breanna Alston rounded out the track events with a 10th-place finish in the 200-meter dash (24.02 seconds).
In field events, Shaqueila Robinson grabbed seventh in the seeded high jump (5'7") and Mary Theresa Montgomery finished eighth in the non-seeded event (5'3").
Gayshawna Watkins continued her impressive season with a solid showing in the shot put. The junior thrower finished fourth with a toss of 44'0.5".
The Mountaineers return to action with their only home meet of the season, the Appalachian Invitational, next Friday, April 13.
