WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Appalachian State University men's golf posted a solid showing throughout the C&F Bank Invitational at Kingsmill Country Club. The Mountaineers placed tenth of 29 teams at the 54-hole event with a 285-306-301=892 (+40).
Casey Komline led Appalachian with a 12th place finish at 69-74-75=218 (+5). The sophomore notched nine birdies over the three-day event.
Josh Nichols followed closely behind with a 69-75-75=219 (+6) to finish in a tie for 15th, while Jason Woodall carded a 72-80-73-225 (+12) to end the event in 43rd place.
Dustin Hudson notched an 88th place finish at 75-77-79=231 (+18) and John Michael Cole added a 75-81-78=234 (+21) to place 104th in the field of 150 golfers.
Missouri claimed the team title at 870 (+18), just two strokes ahead of co-runners up Old Dominion and UNCG. Winthrop's Kamito Hirai took home the individual title at 211 (-2).
The Mountaineers return to action in early April at Wofford's Coca-Cola Invitational at the Country Club of Spartanburg. The two-day event tees off on April 9 as the Apps prepare for the Southern Conference Tournament a week later.
