UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Appalachian State University men's track and field posted nine top-eight finishers at Penn State's Sykes & Sabock Challenge Cup on Saturday.
In 60-meter hurdles, freshman
Stanley Broaden grabbed a fourth-place finish with a personal-best time of 8.16, which puts him fifth all-time in ASU's record book, while senior
AJ Dohanic crossed the finish line in 8.26 for sixth-place.

Landon Powell rounded out the Mountaineers' top sprinters with a sixth-place finish in the 60-meter dash (6.91) and a tenth-place finish in the 200-meter dash (22.25).

Alex Taylor ran a personal-best time of 4:05.73 to place sixth in the mile and is now second all-time in the Apps' record book. Senior
Brian Graves competed in the 5,000-meter run for the first time this season and placed eighth with a time of 15:18.60.

Darius Purcell and freshman
Daryl Saunders finished in fourth and fifth place, respectively in the high jump. Purcell cleared 7-0.50 while Saunders cleared the 6-10.75 mark.
This week's Southern Conference Field Athlete of the Week,
Jared Stalling earned a sixth-place finish in the weight throw (59-5) and an eighth-place showing in the shot put (53-5).
The Mountaineers travel to Birmingham, Ala. for the Samford/UAB/BSC Invite on Feb. 10-11.
