BOONE, N.C. -
Appalachian State University women's outdoor track and field will compete in 13
meets in its 2013 campaign, announced by head coach John Weaver on Wednesday afternoon.
The Mountaineers will start its season on the road as they
travel to Conway, S.C. for the Coastal Carolina Invitational on Friday, Mar. 8
and Saturday, Mar. 9.
The Apps will stay on the road as they compete in the Wake
Forest Invitational on Friday, Mar. 15 and Saturday, Mar. 16 and the High Point
Invitational in High Point, N.C. on Saturday, Mar. 23.
App State will host its first of two meets on Saturday, Mar.
30 when teams travel to Boone for the Mountains vs. Beaches meet to conclude
its March schedule.
The Black and Gold will kick off April when they travel to
Auburn, Ala. on Friday Apr. 5 and Saturday, Apr. 6 for the Auburn Invitational.
The Mountaineers will return to High Country for one last
meet on Friday, Apr. 12 for the Appalachian Invitational.
Weaver and his team will travel to Statesboro, Ga. to
compete for its third straight Southern Conference title on Saturday Apr. 20
and Sunday, Apr. 21 in the SoCon Outdoor Championships.
Appalachian will stay on the road as they travel to
Philadelphia, Pa. for the Penn Relays on Thursday, Apr. 25 through Saturday,
Apr. 27 and then to Clemson, S.C. for the Clemson Invitational on Saturday,
May. 4. The Apps will turn around and travel straight to Raleigh, N.C. for the
NCSU Last Chance meet on Sunday, May 5.
The Apps will compete in its last regular season meet when
they travel to Atlanta, Ga. for the Georgia Tech Invitational on Friday, May 10
and Saturday, May 11.
Qualifiers of the NCAA Preliminaries will compete in
Greensboro, N.C. from Thursday, May 23 through Saturday, May 25 in hopes of
traveling to the NCAA Division 1 Championships in Eugene, Or. on Wednesday,
June 5 through Saturday, June 8.
