BOONE, N.C.- Due to rainy weather that is expected to blanket Cookeville, Tenn., Appalachian State University softball (6-11) has chosen to not participate in the round-robin style set of games with Tennessee Tech and Bowling Green on Mar. 9 at Tennessee Tech Field.

Plans are currently in the works to reschedule the contests.

The Mountaineers open its 2011 Southern Conference slate on Saturday as they travel to Statesboro, Ga. to take on Georgia Southern on Saturday at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
