Rain Keeps Softball Out of Action

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn.- Appalachian State University softball (11-16, 4-4 SoCon) started its first game of a scheduled doubleheader with East Tennessee State University (13-17), but persistant rain cancelled the games on Wednesday (March 30) at the ETSU Softball Stadium in Johnson City, Tenn.

The Mountaineers and Bucs did not complete the required innings for the contest to be counted as an official game, but ASU was down 3-0 in the top of the fifth inning and had started a rally on a double down the left field line by sophomore Sheridan Phillips before the rain made its appearance.

With rain still in the forecast, Appalachian returns to conference play, taking on College of Charleston in a three-game series at Sywassink/Lloyd Family Stadium on Saturday (April 2) at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. and Sunday (April 3) at 1 p.m.
