NO. 2/1 APPALACHIAN STATE 44, NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL 16
SEPT. 18, 2010 • BOONE, N.C. (KIDD BREWER STADIUM)
POSTGAME NOTES

Team
• With the victory, Appalachian moved to 3-0 for the second time in the past 12 seasons. ASU was also 3-0 in 2007 following wins over Michigan, Lenoir-Rhyne and Northern Arizona.

• ASU moved to 2-0 all-time vs. in-state rival North Carolina Central. The Mountaineers downed NCCU, 55-21, on Oct. 10 of last season.

• Appalachian won its 28th-consecutive home game over an in-state opponent. ASU has not lost to an in-state opponent at home since it dropped a 34-7 decision to Western Carolina on Oct. 6, 1984 at what was then called Conrad Stadium.

• Saturday's attendance of 29,218 was the fifth-largest crowd in Kidd Brewer/Conrad Stadium history.

• Appalachian won for the 50th time in its last 53 home games.

• ASU, which had possession for just 26:01, racked up 524 yards of total offense on 62 plays (8.45 average), including 328 rushing yards on 41 carries (8.0 average).

• For the first time in school history, Appalachian has scored at least 40 points in each of its first three games of the season.

Individual

• ASU junior running back Travaris Cadet rushed for a career-high 149 yards on just eight carries, good for an 18.6-yard average. His 52-yard touchdown run was a career long.

• ASU junior starting quarterback DeAndre Presley, who was removed from the game after the first series of the second half, completed 7-of-12 passes for 95 yards and rushed six times for 57 yards (9.5 avg.).

• ASU redshirt freshman quarterback Jamal Jackson, who replaced Presley on ASU's second possession of the third quarter, completed 5-of-9 passes for 101 yards and one touchdown, all career highs, in less than a half of action.

• ASU senior running back Devon Moore scored on first-quarter touchdown runs of two and six yards, good for the eighth multi-touchdown game of his career. The senior has 33 career touchdown runs, good for fifth in ASU history.

• ASU senior kicker Jason Vitaris matched a career high with three field goals (34, 24 and 29 yards).

• ASU senior defensive back Mark LeGree moved alone into fourth in ASU history with his 19th career interception. His second INT of the season gives him six more than the closest active NCAA Division I FCS player (Southern Illinois' Korey Lindsey – 13).
