With the victory, ASU improves to 9-8 on the season and 2-5 in Southern Conference action, while the Bulldogs drop to 8-13 overall and 2-7 in league play.

The match started on a strong note for Appalachian, as ASU was able to pick up wins in all three doubles matches.

The duo of Trent Constance and Peter Jacobs cruised past Alberto Diaz and Yufo Sutantio at the number one slot, grabbing an 8-4 win. Andrew McKinnon and Britton Webb followed suit at the three spot, clinching the doubles victory, handing their competitors an 8-5 loss.

Phlip Kloc and Alain Humblet kept the Black and Gold spotless in doubles play, as they downed Derek Dickey and David Orces 8-4 as well.

Appalachian's impressive performance continued, as the Mountaineers were able to clinch the contest with wins in the first three singles matches.

Humblet had no trouble with Diaz, beating him 6-3, 6-2 at the two position, while Jacobs cruised to a victory as well, defeating Suntatio in two sets as well at the one spot.

Constance remains undefeated on the season at the three slot, as he notched a 6-4, 6-2 win over Orces to give the Apps the early match win.

Due to the match already being decided and being played indoors, the 4, 5 and 6 singles matches only played one set.

At the four slot, Kloc downed Josh Cook 6-1, while McKinnon and Webb both fell short at the five and six spots, losing 6-3 and 6-4.

ASU's busy weekend continues, as the Apps host non-conference foe Charlotte, Saturday April 10 at Noon. The match will be played at the Rivers Street Tennis Courts.
