Men's Tennis Bounces Back, Runs Past UNCA 6-1
BOONE, N.C.- Appalachian State University men's tennis earned its seventh win of the season Wednesday afternoon, as the Apps handed UNC Asheville a resounding 6-1 defeat to improve to 7-4 on the 2009-10 campaign.

UNCA made a statement early in doubles action, as the senior team of Peter Jacobs and Trent Constance fell 8-3 to their competitors at the number one spot. Despite the early loss, the duo of Alain Humblet and Philip Kloc continued with their strong play, squeaking out a 9-7 victory at the number two position.

In the final match deciding the doubles point, Andrew McKinnonn and Ezekiel Sansing downed Thomas Rees and Alex Appelt 8-3 at the third spot, to take the early 1-0 match lead.

Constance was the lone Mountaineer to suffer a loss, as he fell in two sets at the number one spot.

Jacobs continued with ASU's impressive play as he was victorious at the two spot, winning 7-6, 6-2, while Humblet had no trouble with Jonas Brobeck at the three position, cruising to a 6-0, 6-2 win.

Kloc downed Nathan White 6-3, 6-0 at the number four singles spot, while McKinnonn and Sansing grabbed decisive victories as well at the five and six positions, keeping ASU spotless on the day in singles action.

ASU will now have a week off to prepare for a monster match at Furman on Wednesday March 24. The match is slated to begin at 2:30 p.m. in Greenville, S.C.
