POSTGAME NOTES


Team

• With the victory, Villanova (9-4) advances to next week's NCAA Division I Football Championship semifinals and it will travel to winner of Saturday's Eastern Washington-North Dakota State quarterfinal.

• Appalachian's season ends at 11-3.

• ASU lost for only the fourth time in 59 home games since the beginning of the 2003 season and just the second time in its last 15 postseason home games.

Individual
• Villanova's Matt Szczur had a hand in five of Villanova's six touchdowns (three rushing, one receiving and one passing). He finished with 207 combined yards (104 rushing, 45 receiving and 58 passing).

• For the sixth time in 15 career starts and fifth time this season, ASU quarterback DeAndre Presley topped 300 yards of total offense with 383 total yards (361 passing, 22 rushing).

• Presley's 361 passing yards were both a career and season-high, while his 31 completions were also a career and season-best.

• ASU running back Devon Moore set a career high with 93 receiving yards, including a career-long 74-yard reception in the first quarter.
