POSTGAME NOTES

Team
• Appalachian (5-0, 3-0 SoCon) won its 23rd-consecutive Southern Conference game. Its last loss in a conference game came on Oct. 20, 2007 vs. Georgia Southern (38-35) – 1,083 days ago.

• Appalachian defeated Elon for the 15th-straight time, dating back to 1965. Elon's last win in the series came on Oct. 3, 1964 (28-7 in Boone).

• Elon (2-4, 1-2 SoCon), which finished second behind ASU in the SoCon a year ago and was picked to finish second again this year, in essence fell three games behind ASU in the SoCon standings, taking into consideration that ASU holds the tiebreaker with Saturday's win.

• ASU won its eighth-straight homecoming game and moved to 36-11-2 all-time on homecoming at Conrad/Kidd Brewer Stadium.

• Appalachian won for the 51st time in its last 54 home games.

• The crowd of 31,531 was the largest in ASU history (prev., 30,931 vs. Wofford, Oct. 31, 2008).

• Three of ASU's eight largest crowds all-time have come in its first three home games this year.

• ASU won its 29th-consecutive home game over an in-state opponent. ASU last lost to an in-state foe at home on Oct. 6, 1984 (34-7 vs., Western Carolina).

Individual
• ASU quarterback DeAndre Presley (374 yards of total offense, three touchdowns accounted for) surpassed 300 yards of total offense for the fourth time in seven career starts. The junior completed 14-of-19 passes for 204 yards and one touchdown and ran 23 times for 170 yards and two touchdowns.

• Presley's four games with 300 or more yards of total offense tie him with Baker for fifth all-time at ASU.

• Presley's 170 rushing yards were a career high (prev. 156 at Western Carolina, 11/22/08).

• Presley's 100-yard rushing effort was his second of the season and fourth of his career.

• Presley's 53-yard touchdown run in the second quarter was a career long (prev. 34 on Sept. 25 at Samford).

• Presley's second touchdown run of the day, a 44-yarder that gave ASU a 27-17 lead late in the third quarter, also surpassed his previous career long.

• Elon's Aaron Mellette became the first player with three receiving touchdowns against ASU since Hawaii's Jeremiah Cockerhan on Aug. 30, 2003.
