Wrestling Looks to Get Back on Track at Campbell

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Appalachian State University wrestling travels to Campbell on Saturday for a 2 p.m. match.

Both teams are struggling coming into the match, as the Mountaineers are 1-6 on the season while the Camels are 0-4.

Sophomore Savva Kostis is the hottest wrestler right now, having won five of his last seven matches to up his win total to 11. Dylan Temple leads the team with 12 wins while Kyle Blevins is third with 10.

Campbell is led by 125/133 pounder Richie Apolinar who is 12-8 on the year. C.J. Gittens and Nick Rex are tied for second with seven wins.

The Mountaineers will finally have their home opener on Jan. 14 when they host UNC Greensboro and Virginia.

Notes: The Dec. 18 match versus Virginia was postponed to the snow storm in Boone that weekend and has been rescheduled on Jan. 14. The ASU vs. UNC Greensboro will begin at 6 p.m. and the Apps will wrestle Virginia at 7:30 p.m.
