Women's Golf Opens Fall with Fifth Place Finish
DRAPER VALLEY, Va. - Freshman Kristina Boo shined in her collegiate debut with a pair of five-over rounds to tie for 12th place at 77-77-154 (+10) for Appalachian State University women's golf. The team carded a 316-322-638 (+62) at the Draper Intercollegiate tournament.

Brooke DeHart finished 23rd at 79-81-160 (+16) while Jordan Kreuter was right behind at 79-82-161 (+17) to tie for 24th place.

Kerri Dice was 29th after carding rounds of 81-82-163 (+19) and Samantha Bonham finished 44th at 91-88-179 (+35).

Three Mountaineers competed individually, as Zimbabwe native Rumbidzai Masamvu tied for eighth overall with rounds of 77-75-170 (+26). Ginny Thompson shot an 86-84-170 (+26) for 38th place and Samantha Patton was a stroke back at 78-93-171 (+27).

Western Carolina's Josefine Sundh and Desiree Karlsson swept the top two individual places as the Catamounts earned the team win at 583 (+7). Fellow Southern Conference foe The Citadel placed eighth with a 671 (+95).

The Apps return to the course in two weeks for the Great Smokies Invitational in Waynesville, N.C. on Sept. 19-20.
