SUNSET BEACH, N.C. - Casey Johnson finished four strokes under par over three rounds to tie for tenth place individually and Appalachian State University men's golf tied for tenth as a team at the Sea Trail Intercollegiate over the weekend.

Stetson University took home the team title at 841 (-23), five strokes ahead of second-place Wofford College. Wofford's Mark Joye shot 70-66-72-208 (-8) to take home the individual title.

Johnson was two strokes under in Friday's first round, before shooting a par-72 on Saturday. In Sunday's final round he again carded a 70 for a 212 (-4) on the weekend.

The finish was the second in the top-10 for the senior, who won the Spring Hill Suites Intercollegiate in the season opener for the Mountaineers.

Jacob Eggers also finished strong, just two strokes behind his teammate, at 70-71-73-214 (-2) in a tie for 13th place out of 88 competitors. The finish matches the best of his career, as Eggers placed 13th at last spring's Charleston Southern Invitational.

Lance Wheeler shot a 74-74-76-224 (+8) to tie for 55th while Dustin Hudson finished 64th at 73-79-73-225 (+9). Colin Hobbs placed 72nd with scores of 74-77-75-226 (+10).

The Apps finished just two strokes back of a four-way tie for sixth place, which included host and Southern Conference rival Elon. Also competing from the SoCon, Samford placed 15th of 16 teams on the 6,761-yard course.

Competing individually, Ryan Yarbrough wrapped up the weekend in 43rd place at 76-70-76-222 (+6). His Saturday score of 70 tied for the seventh-best round of the day. Jay Brown also made his ASU debut over the weekend and scored rounds of 76-78-77-231 (+15) to finish 78th.
