Men's Soccer Travels to UNC Wilmington Tournament

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Appalachian State Univrsity men's soccer heads to UNC Wilmington this weekend to play Alabama A&M and West Virginia in the UNC Wilmington Invitational.

The Mountaineers are 1-2 on the season, with the win over Emory and Henry and back-to-back losses to Radford and Liberty.

After scoring 10 goals in the season-opening win over Emory and Henry, ASU has scored a combined two goals in the losses to Radford and Liberty. Luis Calzadilla scored one of the two goals, the first goal of his collegiate career.

Sophomore goalkeeper Collin Taylor made his first start of the season in the loss to Liberty, making seven saves.

Alabama A&M comes into the match with a record of 1-2, with a 2-1 win over Mercer and losses to St. Mary's and Sacramento State. The Bulldogs are led offensively by Abraham Kassaye, who has three goals and an assist, while Eric Kamya is second on the team in points with three (1G, 1A).

West Virginia is 1-1 on the season. The Mountainners started the season with a 2-0 loss to UC Santa Barbara and followed with a 1-0 2OT win over Buffalo. Moeryhan Doue has scored the only goal so far for WVU. Zach Johnson has played every minute in goal and has made two saves.
