Men's Soccer Explodes For 10-0 Win Over Emory and Henry

BOONE, N.C. - Mark Bridges scored in the sixth minute and Appalachian State University men's soccer did not stop as the Mountaineers beat Emory and Henry 10-0 Tuesday night at Appalachian Soccer Stadium.

Arie Muniz led the onslaught with a hat trick, while freshman Tyler Regan added two goals and three assists.

Bridges scored his first career goal off a centering pass from Regan to give ASU 1-0) a 1-0 lead. Just over a minute later Muniz scored his first of the night off another assist from Regan.

Muniz added his second goal of the night when he knocked in a rebound off a shot from David Dodge to give ASU a three-goal lead. Regan added to the lead three minutes later when he took a give and go from Steven Sassano and beat the goalkeeper to the right.

Sassano finished the scoring for ASU in the first half with a blast from 20 yards out for a 5-0 halftime lead.

Bruno Mbamala got the scoring off for ASU in the second half, scoring his first collegiate goal off of a corner kick.

Muniz and Regan kept the scoring going for ASU, as the duo scored less than a minute apart.

Ethan Durland and Nate Latigue rounded out the scoring for ASU, scoring off assists from J.J. Elder and Ryan Duffy, respectively.

Bridges, Regan, Mbamala, Durland and Latigue all scored their first career goals.

Drake Branson earned the win in goal while Collin Taylor made the only ASU save.

The Mountaineers are back in action Friday night as they host Radford at 7 p.m.
