WILMINGTON, N.C. - Jordan Kreuter and
Brooke DeHart each shot an 81 on Tuesday as Appalachian State University women's golf finished in 12th place at UNC Wilmington's Lady Seahawk Classic.
Altogether, the Mountaineers shot 335 on Tuesday and finished the competition with a team score of 337-323-335=995 (+131), just 12 strokes behind 11th-place Brown University.
Kreuter wrapped up the three-round tournament in 54th place with an 86-78-81=245 (+29).
Kerri Dice was right behind at 79-82-87=248 (+32) for 56th place.
DeHart shot a 90-79-81=250 (+34) for 61st in the individual standings, while
Mary Kate Bowman carded an 82-84-86=252 (+38) over the two days for 64th place and
Amy Harris shot a 100-98-99=297 (+81) for 71st place.
East Tennessee State edged out Elon, 903 to 909 for the team title, while the Phoenix's Danielle Mills took home the individual trophy at 72-68-76=216 even par. Southern Conference rival UNC Greensboro finished in a tie for fifth place and Wofford finished in ninth.
The Mountaineers return to action on April 4 at the University Cup at Morganton's Mimosa Hills Golf Club.
