In addition to the Payton Award, the Buck Buchanan (FCS Defensive Player of the Year) and Eddie Robinson (FCS Coach of the Year) awards will also be presented on Thursday night. LeGREE, ROMAN NAMED AFCA ALL-AMERICANS: LeGree and ASU middle linebacker Jacque Roman have both been selected to the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) all-America team, the AFCA officially announced on Wednesday.

For the second-straight season, LeGree led the SoCon in interceptions en route to all-America recognition. His seven INTs tied for fourth nationally while he also ranked fifth on the team with 70 tackles and second with 13 passes defended and a forced fumble. With 17 career interceptions, he'll lead all active FCS players heading into his senior season next fall. The all-America selection is LeGree's second of the week, as he was honored by the Walter Camp Football Foundation on Monday.

Roman is also a first-team all-American for the second-straight year. This fall, he ranked second on the Mountaineers with 107 total tackles to go along with a sack, two tackles for loss, two interceptions, four quarterback hurries and a forced fumble. He finished his career with 408 tackles, tops among all active Division I FCS players in 2009 and the third-most in ASU's illustrious defensive history.

Very notable in his absence from the AFCA team is Edwards, who was the quarterback on the Walter Camp all-America team and the only signal-caller among the top-three finalists for the Payton Award. Ironically, both Edwards and SIU's Karim, who were both among the top three vote-getters for the Payton Award, didn't receive all-America recognition from the AFCA.
