BOONE, N.C. -- By virtue of her 16th place finish at last Saturday's NCAA Southeast Regional at the University of Louisville, Appalachian State freshman Brittney Caudle has been named to the all-region team, the USTFCCA association announced today.

Today's announcement is the latest accolade for the Middletown, Md. native. In not only her freshman season, but her first year running cross country all-together, Caudle was named SoCon Runner of the Year and SoCon Freshman of the Year after a dominating performance at last month's Southern Conference Championship at Elon. Caudle, who won the conference meet by over 20 seconds, is the first freshman to take home Women's Runner of the Year honors in Appalachian history.

Caudle will now turn her attention to track and field, as the Mountaineers kick off the indoor season with the Appalachian Invitational at the Holmes Convocation Center December 5.
