ORLANDO, Fla. - Three Mountaineers posted top-15 finishes as Appalachian State University men's golf took home third place at the Mission Inn Intercollegiate over the weekend with rounds of 293-295-296-884 (+32). Casey Johnson tied for second place at the event with scores of 71-69-72-212 (-1).

Dustin Hudson carded a 71-73-78-222 (+9) and Lance Wheeler matched the score with rounds of 72, 78 and 72 as the two tied for 15th place on the weekend.

Jacob Eggers shot a 79-75-75-229 (+16) for 32nd place and Josh Nichols finished 50th at 83-79-77-239 (+26).

Florida Gulf Coast ran away with the team title at 864 (+12) as the team's Daniel Mazziotta took home the individual title, three strokes ahead of Johnson with a 68-70-71 (-4). Stetson took home second place, a pair of strokes in front of Appalachian.

The Mountaineers return to the course a week from Monday at the Davidson College Invitational at DC's River Run Country Club.
