WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- Appalachian State University women's tennis continued with its 2009 fall campaign at the ITA Regional Championships over the weekend, as three Mountaineers were in action against in-state foes.

In doubles play, the duo of Amanda Cash and Jennifer Ansari faced the No. 1 doubles team in Sanaz Marand and Sophie Grabinski of North Carolina, and suffered an 8-1 defeat.

Teammate Ellie Linsell was the other App in action, as she faced Mihaela Buena of Coastal Carolina in singles play. The freshman lost in two sets 6-4, 6-1.

ASU women's tennis will continue action with one more fall tournament, set to take place November 6 in Charleston, S.C.
