ASU Unveils Throwback Football Uniforms
BOONE, N.C. ? Appalachian State University football unveiled its first-ever throwback uniforms on Thursday. Appalachian will don the throwbacks for the Sept. 6 home opener versus Jacksonville in honor of Jerry Moore's 20th season at the helm of the Mountaineers.

The throwback uniforms, designed and produced by Nike, are replicas of the home uniforms worn during the 1989 season, Moore's first at ASU. Since leading the Black-and-Gold troops to a 43-7 triumph over Gardner-Webb in his first game as the Mountaineers' head coach on Sept. 2, 1989, Moore has become the winningest coach in school and Southern Conference history with a 167-70 overall record. He is a three-time American Football Coaches Association National Coach of the Year and five-time SoCon Coach of the Year honoree.

Following the game versus JU, the uniform jerseys will be auctioned at GoASU.com.
