STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS AND UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENTS LICENSING Student organizations, University departments and schools who wish to use ASU marks on apparel (such as t-shirts, hats or golf shirts) and gift items (such as mugs, key chains, jewelry, etc.) must follow these steps:

If this item you wish to have imprinted has a University trademark (name, logo, etc.), you will need to make sure that the manufacturer you plan to use is licensed with the University. For a list of approved t-shirt licensees please contact Samantha Stevens at

here for a complete list. If you wish for a particular manufacturer to be approved for license, please contact Samantha Stevens or
LRG. The University is required by law to control the use of its trademarks and control is maintained by allowing only licensed manufacturers to reproduce University-owned trademarks.
2. Email the approval form and your artwork to Samantha Stevens at
stevenssm@appstate.edu. You may also fax to Samantha Stevens at 828-262-4056. As long as the item is not for resale, the royalty fee is usually waived..
3. Once the artwork and approval form is received the Licensing Director will approve/disapprove your artwork and notify you.
4. Once notified by the Licensing Director and you receive the signed approval form you are free to print your item.
