Licensed product has become one of the most popular ways for consumers to exhibit their loyalty, whether they are alumni, fans, or simply like the logo and colors. A consistent University image is vital for what the University wants to accomplish.
A trademark is a word, phrase, symbol or design, or combination of words, phrases, symbols or designs that identifies and distinguishes the source of the goods of one party from those of others. A trademark is a Brand Name.
Through the licensing program, Appalachian State protects and enhances its reputation by ensuring that only licensed and approved products displaying University trademarks appear before the public. Additionally, the program enables the institution to share in the benefits derived from the commercial use of these trademarks.
