Harley Gives Men's Soccer Win in Double Overtime

Spartanburg,S.C.- Antonio Harley scored in the 104th minute to give Appalachian Statea 2-1 double overtime win over Wofford at Spartanburg Saturday night.

Harley scored on an unassisted goal from a crossing shot from the right side that landed in the back of the net to give Appalachian the win.  All three of Harley's goals have been game-winners and two have been in double overtime.  Harley scored with three seconds left in double overtime against Gardner-Webb.

Wofford scored first when Nick Schuermann scored off an assist from Branson Hyatt in the first half.

The Mountaineers tied the score in the 71st minute when Juan Obregon scored an unassisted goal from 35 yards out off the right post, to set up Harley's overtime dramatics. The goal was Obregon's second of the season.

Collin Taylor made five saves in goal for the Mountaineers who were outshot 16-14.

With the overtime win, Appalachian improves to 3-1 this season in games that rech the extra session.

The win improves Appalachian to 7-3 on the year and 2-0 in the SoCon as they return home on Tuesday, Oct. 7 to host Elon at 7 p.m. at the Appalachian Soccer Stadium.
