Women's Golf Places Eighteenth at Palmetto Intercollegiate
KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - Appalachian State University women's finished 18th overall at the Palmetto Intercollegiate after darkness postponed Monday's second round. The Mountaineers shot 341-336-354-1031 (+167) in the final tournament of the fall season.

Kerri Dice continued her strong play over both day and led the Apps with a tie for 60th place with rounds of 77-83-85-255 (+29). Mary Kate Bowman bounced back from an opening round 87 to finish 87-79-84-250 (+34) for the tournament, good for 72nd place.

Brooke DeHart carded an 88-87-85-260 (+44) to finish in 85th place while freshman Amy Harris shot 90-108-100-298 (+82).

Emily Cheves posted rounds of 89 and 87 before withdrawing from the competition at 32-over.

The teams all battled gusty winds up to 25 miles per hour at the 5,955-yard Oak Point Golf Club, but Georgia State came out on top with scores of 304-306-297-907 (+43) to take the team title.

Princeton's Susannah Aboff and Marlowe Boukis tied for the individual title after finishing at 224 (+6) while two Georgia State golfers tied with a pair from East Tennessee State for third overall, one stroke back. Host College of Charleston finished in a tie for fourth with Princeton while Western Carolina shot 305-322-321-948 (+84) for 13th place and The Citadel finished 19th at 360-353-367-1080 (+216).

The Mountaineers release their spring schedule later this week and will not compete as a team again until February.
