KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - After one round on the opening day of the Palmetto Intercollegiate, Appalachian State University women's golf stands 17th with a team score of 341 (+53). The second round was postponed due to darkness and the tournament will conclude with the second and third rounds on Tuesday.
Kerri Dice shot a team-low 77 (+5) in the first round, just one stroke off her season-low of 75. After one day she stands in a tie for 31st place.
Mary Kate Bowman carded an 87 (+15) in the opening round for a tie in 83rd place.
Brooke DeHart was one stroke back in 8th place and
Emily Cheves is in 89th place after shooting an 89 (+17).
Freshman
Amy Harris made her Appalachian debut on Monday with a 90 (+18) in the opening round.
Host College of Charleston carded a 300 as a team to tie UALR for second place on the 5,955-yard course. East Tennessee State is one stroke ahead at 299 for the lead.
ETSU's Mayte Vizcarrondo leads the tournament with a 70 (-2) in the opening round at Oak Point Golf Club.
