DeLAND, Fla. - Brady Eckard shot a nine-over-par 225 as the Appalachian State University men's golf team placed seventh Tuesday at the Stetson/CFSC Invitational hosted by Stetson University at the par-72 Victoria Hills Golf Course.

As a team the Mountaineers shot a 60-over-par 924 in the three rounds of the two-day tournament.

ASU opened the invitational with a 313 in round one for seventh place in the round. The Mountaineers' best round of the event came in round two with a 304, followed by a 307 in the third and final round. Rollins College took the team title, finishing with a three-round score of 875. Jacksonville University (895), Campbell University (898), Bethune-Cookman College (902) and Stetson (916) rounded out the top five.

Rollins's Tim Acquaviva took the individual title, defeating teammate Dan Walters and Behune-Cookman's Carl Corbin by one stroke with a score of 217. Rollins's Darren Lundgren (219), Jacksonville's Russel Knox (220) and Matt McIntyre of Campbell (220) rounded out the top-five individuals. Eckard was able to recover from a first round score of 7-over-par 79 to shoot a 1-under par 71 in round two. The senior finished the tournament with a third round score of 75.

Senior Dan Gossin and freshman Taylor Hines tied for 24th with three-round scores of 232. Rounding out the scoring for the Mountaineers were junior Ronnie Christopher (80-81-77--238, 31st) and senior Guido Di Cicco (78-80-81--239, T-32nd)
