BOONE, N.C. – App State volleyball opened its home slate with a sweep over William & Mary, with set scores of 25-18, 25-16, 25-19.

The Mountaineers (4-4, 0-0 SBC) traded points with the Tribe (3-4, 0-0 CAA) in the first set until 10-10, when App State went on a four-point run. William & Mary scored its 11th point before App State went on a five-point scoring run, aided by William & Mary errors, a Brooke Doherty kill and a MeMe Davis service ace. Bella Hutchens closed the first set with a kill assisted by Raegan Richardson.

The second set followed a similar flow, with both teams going back and forth until the Mountaineers took a huge seven-point lead. The Tribe was not able to recover, and App State ultimately took the second set by a nine-point margin.

The Mountaineers and the Tribe traded blows in the third set until 19-19. A service ace from Raegan Richardson fueled App State's energy and pushed the Mountaineers through a seven-point run to conclude the match.

Delanie Grevengoed provided eight kills for the Mountaineers on a .438 hitting percentage. MeMe Davis recorded five digs and two kills. Nevaeh Hays tied her season high with five total blocks. Raegan Richardson also tied her season record with four service aces.

App State will continue play Saturday against North Florida at 2 p.m., the match will have live stats available at appstatesports.com and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
