BOONE, N.C. — For the first time in a decade, App State Men's Basketball will face Western Carolina in the Holmes Convocation Center.
The Mountaineers close out their exhibition schedule Tuesday against the Catamounts at 6:30 p.m. It's the first exhibition open to fans since head coach
Dustin Kerns arrived in the High Country,
with tickets available to purchase at appstatesports.com.
Starting at 5 p.m., free parking in the Holmes Deck will be available to fans, as space allows.
While this is a preseason exhibition for the Mountaineers, who open the regular season on Nov. 2 against Merrimack in Rock Hill, S.C., for a Field of 68 Opening Day Marathon game at 6:30 a.m., the matchup with Western renews an in-state rivalry between former Southern Conference foes.
App State last hosted WCU in Boone early in the 2016-17 season, and the Mountaineers played in Cullowhee the following season.
