BOONE, N.C. — App State Men's Golf has hired Holt Allison as an assistant coach, head coach
John Michael Cole announced Thursday.
Allison, who is from nearby Conover, N.C., finished his collegiate career last year as a Lenoir-Rhyne senior who was recognized as an honorable mention All-American by PING, an All-Southeast Region selection and a first-team All-SAC performer. He was a four-year starter and a team captain.
Allison helped lead the Bears to their first-ever NCAA Regional appearance in 2024, followed by a second consecutive bid in 2025. As a team, Lenoir-Rhyne finished the season with a No. 22 national ranking and posted eight top-five finishes, including a win at the Lenoir-Rhyne Fall Invitational.
Allison finished the season with three individual victories and eight top-10 results in 11 events. He held a 70.7 adjusted scoring average and had two outright wins in addition to tying for first at the Bearcat Spring Invitational.
Allison was ranked No. 22 individually in Division II and No. 7 in the Southeast Region. He was also a multiple-time GCAA All-America Scholar during his tenure.
Allison graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne with a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management in May 2024 and a Master of Business Administration in May 2025.
