Sangster Named to Inaugural All-Sun Belt Community Service Team

NEW ORLEANS - App State senior Tucker Sangster was named to the inaugural All-Sun Belt Community Service Team, the league announced Monday. The program aims to highlight student-athletes who demonstrate a commitment to community service.

Last year, the Odenton, Md. native logged 60 hours of service, dividing his time and efforts to various impactful avenues. Sangster volunteered with disaster relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene in partnership with NASCAR. In the winter, he assisted with Operation Christmas Child, which involves assembling shoe boxes with gifts for children in need. Additionally, Sangster has helped with canned food drives and freshman move-in efforts.

Sangster and the Mountaineers will open the 2025 cross country season on Friday with the Covered Bridge Open at the Don Kennedy Trails at State Farm. The women's 5K is slated for 9:15 a.m. with the men's 8K to follow at 9:45 a.m.

The All-Sun Belt Community Service Team aims to recognize one student-athlete from each SBC institution who has shown outstanding dedication to community service. Each school can nominate one student-athlete who exemplifies this quality with emphasis in the leadership and execution of these efforts.
