BOONE, N.C. – Following back-to-back 30-win seasons for the first time since 2012-13, App State Baseball has announced its schedule for the 2025 season.
The Mountaineers will play a 53-game schedule, with 41 of those games being played in North Carolina, South Carolina or Tennessee, including 23 games at Beaver Field at Jim and Bettie Smith Stadium in Boone.
Season tickets are on sale now for both new purchases and renewals and start at just $115 for all 23 home games at Smith Stadium, as well as six home games that are being hosted in Hickory. Single-game tickets will go on sale in January.
"It's a great day to be a Mountaineer," head coach
Kermit Smith said. "We are so fortunate to be in an elite conference and to be located in the best region in college baseball. This schedule allows us to aggressively pursue getting the Black and Gold back to an NCAA Regional.
"The Mountaineer faithful have shown up consistently throughout the years and this schedule allows them to support us in Boone, Hickory and beyond. We are excited to compete in front of our fellow Mountaineers."
App State will spend the first three weekends of the season hosting games in western North Carolina. The Mountaineers will open the season with a Feb. 14-16 weekend series against Queens in Hickory. After a midweek contest in High Point on Feb. 18, App State will return to L.P. Frans Stadium for a three-game set against UMass Lowell, Feb. 21-23.
Following a midweek showdown with ETSU in Johnson City, Tenn., on Feb. 25, App State will play four consecutive games at Smith Stadium. This includes a weekend series against Gardner-Webb from Feb. 28-March 2, followed by a March 4 matchup against Wake Forest.
After a road series against the College of Charleston from March 7-9, App State will open Sun Belt play on March 14 with a three-game set against Texas State in Boone. Other home conference series include Old Dominion (March 28-30), James Madison (April 17-19), Southern Miss (April 25-27) in its first ever trip to Boone and Georgia State (May 15-17) to close out the regular season.
The 2025 road conference slate includes trips to Georgia Southern (March 21-23), ULM (April 4-6), Marshall (April 11-13), Coastal Carolina (May 2-4) and South Alabama (May 9-11).
App State will also play home midweek matchups against Charlotte (March 11), High Point (March 25), Western Carolina (April 8) and ETSU (April 22).
In addition to hosting Wake Forest in Boone on March 4, the Mountaineers and Demon Deacons will renew their Shelby series on April 29 at Keeter Stadium. App State will also travel to play another ACC member, Duke, on April 15.
Six of the Mountaineers' 2025 opponents made an NCAA Regional appearance in 2024, while 10 of their opponents finished the 2024 season ranked in the top 100 in the nation in RPI.
