1st:Â The game started off close, with both teams struggling to find attacking chances early in the contest. Each team finished the period with one shot on goal, with the Mountaineers leading the shot count 3-2 heading into the second period.
2nd:Â The Mountaineers held more possession in the second period, forcing two corners and a shot on goal to Kent State's zero. A
Henriette Stegen goal was called back after video review, taking what would have been the first goal off the board. The Mountaineers end the half winning the shot count 6-2, tied at zero apiece.
3rd: App State controlled the pace of the period coming out of the break, forcing two corners to Kent State's zero.
