Mountaineers Visit ULM on Thursday Night

Monroe, La. -- App State men's basketball is set to meet ULM in a pivotal matchup for the Sun Belt standings on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The contest will be streamed live on ESPN+ with live stats and listening options available to follow along.

THE SERIES

  • This will be the 12th meeting between the two schools in a series that ULM leads 6-5.
  • The Mountaineers defeated the Warhawks on New Year's Day, 2022 in Boone. Adrian Delph scored 24 of his game-high 29 points in the second half as App State outscored ULM 45-31 in the second half. Donovan Gregory scored 15 points (7-12 FG) and CJ Huntley posted 12 points and six rebounds.

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS (13-12, 6-6 SBC)

  • App State dropped back-to-back close games at home last weekend to Marshall and James Madison after three straight wins.
  • The Mountaineers rank 20th in the nation in field goal percentage defense and lead the Sun Belt. The Mountaineers have held their opponents to 39.6% shooting from the field and their last three to 37% or lower (Arkansas State, Marshall, James Madison).
  • Gregory hit several career milestones last weekend, becoming the only player in App State history with 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 150 steals (all reached in the last two games).
  • Terence Harcum has led the scoring charge in App State's last five wins, averaging 13.2 points in conference play. The sophomore is third in the Sun Belt in 3FG% (40.5%) and 3-pointers made (2.5) during conference games. Harcum has hit at least three from downtown in four of his last five games.

SCOUTING THE WARHAWKS (11-14, 7-5 SBC)

  • ULM split its last weekend at home, defeating Coastal Carolina 83-70 before falling to South Alabama on Saturday, 64-72.
  • Through 25 games, Jamari Blackmon leads the team at 14.2 points per game, which ranks 10th in the SBC. He also leads the team with 3.33 assists per game, which is 10th in the SBC. He ranks third in the SBC in 3-point field-goal percentage (.420) and 3-point field-goals made per game (2.29).
  • Inside SBC play, ULM is second in the conference in 3-point percentage (.390) and leads the league in 3-point field-goals made (97, 8.08 per game).
  • Thomas Howell pulls down a team-high 7.4 rebounds to go along with his 9.9 points per game.
