Fan Guide for App State vs. Auburn on Dec. 3

App State Athletics is excited to welcome fans and visitors to the Holmes Convocation Center on Sunday, Dec. 3, for men's basketball's nationally televised, sold-out game against the Auburn Tigers. In preparation for this event, App State wanted to assist you with helpful information for game day.
 
As always, arrive early, stay late, be loud and be respectful.

Accessibility
  • For information on parking and seating for guests with disabilities, please contact the App State ticket office at 828-262-7733 or visit the customer service booth located on the South side of the building on the ground level between the Southwest and Southeast entrance.
 
Entry
  • Fans can use exterior stairwells and ramps to enter the arena through four different locations at the Holmes Center, and there will be metal detectors at each entrance to ensure fan safety. Fans will be asked to remove keys, phones or other items before passing through a metal detector.
  • Entrances are listed below:
    • Northwest entrance
    • Southwest Entrance (handicap accessible)
    • Southeast entrance
    • Northeast entrance
 
Doors Open
  • Doors open at 11 a.m., two hours prior to the 1 p.m. tipoff.
 
Entry/Re-Entry
  • Fans who exit the Holmes Center during the game may not re-enter the arena.
 
Mobile App
  • Download the App State Athletics mobile app to get the latest updates and promotions for App State game days and sports teams. Enable push notifications to stay up-to-date with all your favorite App State teams and alerts.
 
Mobile Tickets  
YIKAS Rewards (for students)
  • YIKAS Rewards is a student-only rewards program that requires a valid App State student email address to join. Students check into App State home games to earn points, and redeem points for free gear, prizes, and great deals.
  • Open the App State Athletics app on your mobile device, select "more" in the bottom navigation bar and click "Student Rewards" in the menu. Enter your information, including your student email address, and a confirmation message will be sent to your email. Then click "Confirm your email."
  • Check in at the game to be eligible for awesome prizes.

Parking
  • There are roughly 1,500 FREE parking spaces within 0.4 of a mile of the Holmes Convocation Center that will be available for game day use. Those lots include Hill Street, Rivers Street Parking Deck, University Drive, Duncan, Legends and Peacock. 
  • There will be a courtesy shuttle that will run fans to the arena from the Rivers Street Parking Deck starting at 11 a.m. and ending around an hour after the game is over.
 
Clear Bag Policy
  • The Holmes Convocation Center employs a clear bag policy intended to enhance patron safety and expedite arena entry by reducing the time needed to search bags at the gates.
  • Approved bags include:
    • Clear, plastic bags that do not exceed 12"x6"X12"
    • Small clutch purses (with or without straps) that are no larger than4.5"x6.5"
    • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags
    • Clear diaper bags
    • Individual seat cushions that do not include arms or pockets
  • Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection by the Holmes Center staff.
 
Concessions
  • The Homes Center will be providing additional concession stands to eliminate long lines.
  • Concession stands are located on the concourse of Sections 2, 5, 10 and 13.
  • A Grab & Go station will be located on the concourse of Sections 2 and 12.
  • Beer will be served throughout the arena. You can purchase alcoholic beverages on the concourse of Sections 3, 7, 11 and 15.
 
Outside Food or Beverage
  • In accordance with the laws of North Carolina, it is against the law to bring any outside food or beverage into the arena.
 
Prohibited Items
  • The following items are prohibited in the Holmes Center:
    • Handbags and/or backpacks
    • Alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs
    • Any type of outside food or beverage
    • Air horn or artificial noisemakers
    • Beach balls and other inflatables
    • Laser pointers or laser products of any kind
    • Sticks and/or poles
    • Fireworks or confetti
    • Skateboards, bicycles or roller blades
    • Weapons and contraband items of any type
    • Tasers
    • Any other items determined to be unacceptable by the Holmes Center
 
Yosef Club
  • The Yosef Club is the annual fundraising component of the Mountaineers Athletic Fund.
  • Celebrating its 50th anniversary last year, the Yosef Club's primary purpose is to provide scholarships for App State student-athletes.
  • Yosef Club members receive a variety of benefits. Members with season tickets receive their own parking pass for all home football and basketball games. Other benefits include a quarterly newsletter and special events throughout the year.
