App State Hosts Regent Before String of Road Games

BOONE, N.C. -- App State is set to host Regent in its eighth home game of the season. This will be the first meeting between the two schools.

The game will air live on ESPN+ with live stats and listening options available to follow along.

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS (6-5)

  • App State came just short of its second ACC win of the season on Wednesday night after falling to Wake Forest, 66-67 in a heartbreaking thriller. Terence Harcum scored a corner three-pointer with 14 seconds left to give the Mountaineers a one-point advantage, but Wake Forest's Andrew Carr responded with a buzzer-beating mid-range jump shot to end the game.
  • Christopher Mantis has worked his way into the starting lineup, recording several 20-point performances this season as well as 18 against Wake Forest. On Wednesday, he shot 6-7 from the field with a trio of three-point shots, a perfect game from the line, and snagged two steals and two blocks on the other end.
  • The Mountaineers are 4-3 at home with wins over Carlow, Southeastern Louisiana, N.C. Central and Warren Wilson.
  • The Black & Gold average just under 30 bench points per game, the 35th highest mark in the nation. Dibaji Walker has been a persistent help off the bench, averaging 7.5 points and 3.5 rebounds.
SCOUTING THE ROYALS (1-3)
  • Regent has tallied just one win this season against Christendom College. The Royals have dropped games against Shenandoah, Virginia Wesleyan and Bluefield.
  • Stanley Adjei leads the Royals in scoring with 17 points per game. In the win over Christendom on Dec. 3, Adjei recorded a career-high 29 points and went 9-13 from the floor.
  • Joakim Marie-Joseph has pulled down a team-high 9.5 rebounds per game with one double-double against Christendom. He also had an 18-rebound game in a loss to Virginia Wesleyan on Nov. 9.
