BOONE, N.C. - App State Field Hockey dropped its first exhibition game 3-1 against Wake Forest Thursday. Â
The Mountaineers got off to a hot start when Charlotte Bosma scored in the first five minutes off a Pauline Mangold assist to give App State a 1-0 lead.
Through the first half, Addie Clark saved six shots in goal and allowed just one goal in 30 minutes of action.
App State will play its second and final exhibition game on Sunday hosting Queens University. First touch is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Brandon and Erica M. Adcock Field.
After that, the Mountaineers' regular season starts next Saturday, Aug. 28, when they take on Georgetown at 2 p.m. in Towson, Md.
