About the Mountaineers
The Mountaineers dealt UNCG a 1-0 loss in the first of two exhibition matches, after Ana Moleka scored the game-winning goal in the 75th minute of the third period, while Avery Quoyeser earned the assist.
Sarah Strickland returns as head coach for her 12th season with the Mountaineers. The Black and Gold finished last season with a 6-11-1 mark overall and a 4-6-0 record in league play. App returns eight of 11 starters while 12 newcomers are making their debut.
