BOONE, N.C. - App State field hockey hosts Mid-American Conference opponent Central Michigan Saturday and Sunday from Brandon and Erica M. Adcock Field. Both contests this weekend are scheduled for an 11 a.m. start and will be live streamed on Twitch.
Central Michigan suffered their first loss of the spring season Thursday against Davidson, 4-1. The Chippewas enter the weekend series 2-1 overall.
App State slides into the weekend .500 overall and on a two-game win streak sparked by an 3-2 overtime win over Saint Louis. The Mountaineers are 1-1 in MAC play, whereas Central Michigan opens their conference slate against App State.
In 2019, App State defeated Central Michigan twice, once in the regular season and once in the opening round of the MAC Tournament. The Black and Gold outscored the Chippewas 7-2 in the two meetings.
The weekend matchups will be the 7th and 8th all-time meeting between the two programs. App State holds a five-game win streak over Central Michigan and leads the all-time series lead 5-1.

Grace Ball leads the goals scored category this season for the Mountaineers with two.
Friederike Stegen is two assists away from tying Bridgette Burkhardt (18) for second all-time in career assists in program history.
App State's defense will be put to the test once again as the Chippewas average 3.33 goals per game. Alice O'hagen, Kate Biglin and Lauren Buffington have each recorded two goals for Central Michigan.
