LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Izzy Evely led App State women's cross country to an 18th-place team finish at the NCAA Southeast Regional Friday.
Evely set a new 6K personal record with a final time of 21:17.1, placing 38th on the individual leaderboard by charging up six spots in the closing 1,000 meters. She clocked the 5th fastest 6K time in program history.
NC State won both the individual crown and team title, 34 points, and will advance to the NCAA Championship in Tallahassee, Florida, on Nov. 20. Kelsey Chmiel (NC State) captured the individual crown for the Wolfpack with a 6K time of 19:58.4.
North Carolina posted a second-place team finish, 73 points, and will also advance to the championship.
Tori Herman (Kentucky), Calli Doan (Liberty), Bethany Graham (Furman), and Annabelle Eastman (George Mason) qualified for the NCAA Championship as individuals.
For App State, Macki Walsh posted a top-100 effort on the individual leaderboard among a total of 223 competing student-athletes. Walsh's 22:23.0 placed 95th.
Jasmine Donohue, Lila Peters and Karsyn Kane rounded out the Mountaineer contingent with all sub 23-minute 6K times.
