ARLINGTON, Texas - App State women's basketball suffered a 63-44 decision to UTA on Thursday evening in the College Park Center.
The Mountaineers fall to 6-15 (3-7 SBC) while UTA improves to 13-9 and 7-3 in league action.
Pre Stanley led the team with 14 points on 6-for-11 shooting from the field for her second-highest outing on the road in conference play.
Ashley Polacek posted 11 points and a team-best four assists.
Bayley Plummer totaled a game-best 12 boards, three blocks and six points.
Like in the first contest, the hosts jumped out to an early lead it wouldn't relinquish, as it shot 56.3 percent in the opening frame and a 22-11 advantage.
Polacek answered a 3-pointer in the early goings of the contest to tie up the contest, 3-3. UTA scored five straight points before a Plummer layup brought the game to one possession, 8-5. However, the Mavs finished the quarter on a 14-6 run to end the period.
UTA stayed in front by double digits the rest of the way for the win.
App State will look to even the weekend on Saturday at 3 p.m. (ET) against Texas State.
