BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State offensive lineman
Cole Garrison made the All-Southern Pigskin Bowl team from a regional college football site that honored postseason performances by Sun Belt, SEC and ACC players.
Garrison didn't start a 45-13 victory against Middle Tennessee in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, but he replaced hobbled left tackle
Victor Johnson after the first series and received a grade of 79.2 from the PFF College site.
That grade ranked third among all New Orleans Bowl players, topped only by tight end
Henry Pearson's 85.4 and receiver
Corey Sutton's 83.9. The Mountaineers totaled 448 offensive yards, including 233 on the ground, and allowed no sacks while attempting 26 passes.
A sophomore from Pinson, Ala., Garrison contributed at tackle and guard throughout App State's 11-2 season. He started once at right guard and started in place of Johnson at left tackle in the Sun Belt Championship game victory against Louisiana.
