BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University men's soccer is set for its final tune up on Saturday at 5 p.m. against Campbell at Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex.
PROMOTIONS: Following the match, student-athletes will interact with the fans as they will sign the new 2018 poster.
App has played in one preseason friendly thus far, falling to a tough and experienced Radford team on the road, 1-0. It was a good experience for a young squad as it was the first opposing program it has faced this season. Appalachian will face another tough test in the Camels.
Campbell is coming off a 9-7-3 mark in 2017, and was picked to finish third in the Big South Preseason Poll. Senior JJ Donnelly was predicted to win the league's attacking player of the year award. Ten players who started at least 10 matches in 2017 return including several players that earned postseason honors from the Big South.
Appalachian will begin the regular season with a pair of road matches in Florida next Friday, Aug. 24 at Jacksonville (7 p.m.) before facing North Florida two days later at 7 p.m.
