Taylor Cimbalist were the two Mountaineers to score against the Demon Deacons.
Wake Forest did not allow a goal in the first half, but scored five of its own for a 5-0 lead at the half. The Deacons held App State to just two shots, none on goal.
Just over a minute into the second half, App State scored its first goal when Cimbalist found Williams sprinting towards the net for the sophomore's fourth goal of the season. Wake Forest would answer at '40 when Jule Grashoff scored her second of three goals on the night.

Appalachian faced 25 shots (19 on goal) from the Demon Deacon offense. Goalkeeper
Rachel Gaines saved 11 while going the distance for App State.
This weekend, the Mountaineers will take their longest trip of the season to Mount Pleasant, Mich., to face MAC-foe Central Michigan. The two teams will play a conference game on Saturday and a nonconference game on Sunday. Both games are slated for a noon start.
