• The win was Appalachian State's first non-conference road win over an NCAA Division I FBS opponent since its historic 34-32 victory at No. 5 Michigan on Sept. 1, 2007.
Individual
• Junior running back Marcus Cox rushed for 107 yards, good for his sixth-straight 100-yard game and his 17th in 27-career games.
• Cox moved into sixth place on Appalachian State's all-time rushing list with 2,976 career yards, passing Ritchie Melchor (2,918 yards from 1986-89). Cox needs just 24 yards to become the sixth 3,000-yard rusher in school history.

• Sophomore tight end Hunter Nunn scored on the first reception of his career, a one-yard touchdown pass from Lamb in the third quarter. All three passes caught by Appalachian State tight ends this season have been touchdowns (Barrett Burns – 2 ; Nunn – 1).
