NO. 12 CLEMSON 41, APPALACHIAN STATE 10
SEPTEMBER 12, 2015 • CLEMSON, S.C. (MEMORIAL STADIUM)
POSTGAME NOTES
Team
• Appalachian State fell to 1-1 on the season while No. 12 Clemson moved to 2-0.
• The loss snapped Appalachian State's seven-game winning streak, which was the fifth-longest in NCAA Division I FBS.
• The loss was Appalachian State's first in 336 days, dating back to a 55-48 overtime defeat versus Liberty on Oct. 11, 2014.
• Appalachian State fell to 0-5 all-time versus Clemson.
• Appalachian State dropped to 1-12 all-time versus nationally ranked NCAA Division I-A/FBS opponents, which includes all five losses to Clemson (1984, 1990, 1991, 1997 and 2015).
• Appalachian State fell to 7-30-1 all-time versus current members of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
• Appalachian State's three interceptions were the most it has thrown since a 66-13 loss at No. 13 Virginia Tech on Sept. 3, 2011. Coincidentally, that was Appalachian State's last game versus a nationally ranked opponent and its last contest against an ACC member prior to Saturday.
Individual
• With two sacks and two tackles for loss, Appalachian State senior defensive lineman Ronald Blair upped his career totals to 15.5 sacks and 37 tackles for loss. He needs only two tackles for loss and three sacks to move into the school's all-time top 10 in each category.
• Sophomore Latrell Gibbs made his second interception of the young season in the first quarter. His two interceptions this season already match his total from his freshman campaign in 2014.
• With 104 rushing yards, junior Marcus Cox became the seventh student-athlete in Appalachian State history with 2,800 career rushing yards. In 26 career games, Cox has rushed for 2,874 yards.
• Sophomore quarterback Taylor Lamb's three interceptions were a career high (prev.: 2 in three games in 2014). It was his first multi-interception in eight games (dating back to Oct. 11, 2014 vs. Liberty).
