POSTGAME NOTES

 

Team

• With only its second loss in its last 15 games, Appalachian State fell to 7-2 overall and 4-1 in Sun Belt Conference play.

• With the win, Arkansas State (6-3, 5-0 Sun Belt) took sole possession of first place in the Sun Belt.

• The loss snapped Appalachian State's 10-game winning streak in Sun Belt games, which was the fourth-longest conference winning streak in Sun Belt history.

• The loss snapped Appalachian State's six-game overall winning streak.

• The loss snapped Appalachian State's seven-game home winning streak, which was its longest since it won 13-consecutive games at Kidd Brewer Stadium from Sept. 26, 2009-Dec. 4, 2010.

• Appalachian State lost a game that it led at halftime (21-17) for the first time since surrendering a 21-14 halftime lead in a 35-28 loss to Chattanooga on Nov. 2, 2013.

Individual

• Appalachian State sophomore quarterback Taylor Lamb threw for 321 yards to become the ninth student-athlete in school history with 4,000 passing yards in a career. He finished the night with 4,219 career yards.

• Lamb's 321 yards through the air and 22 completions are a season high, surpassing his 21 completions and 314 yards in a 37-3 win at Georgia State. For Lamb's career, it's his third 300-yard passing game.

• Senior defensive back Doug Middleton came away with a career-high 11 stops, which passes the 10 tackles he recorded at Georgia Southern in 2014.

• Appalachian State sophomore Dante Jones scored the first touchdown of his career on a 24-yard reception in the second quarter.
